The Chairman of the Club of SDP Deputies in the House of Representatives of the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Saša Magazinović, is one of the hosts of the National Prayer Breakfast, an event that brings together different confessions and political beliefs, and which will be held for the first time today in Sarajevo.

The main sponsor of the event is the chairman of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Denis Bećirović, and together with MP Saša Magazinović, the organizers and hosts are the mayor of Sarajevo, Benjamina Karić, member of the German Bundestag, Josip Juratović, and professor dr. Ahmet Shala.

This cross-party and cross-denominational meeting, which builds on the tradition of the National Prayer Breakfast in Washington, will bring together people from the political, cultural, religious, academic and economic life of the Western Balkans with the aim of promoting understanding among people regardless of political, religious, ideological, cultural or another affiliation, PSBIH announced.

The prayer breakfast will be held in the Parliamentary Assembly of BiH, after which a panel discussion on the topic “Aware of our responsibility before God and people” will be held in the Blue Hall of the Parliamentary Assembly of BiH.

The National Prayer Breakfast has its roots in America, from the time before the Second World War, when the poor gathered together to have a prayer together with a meal. Later, this tradition was taken over by a group of congressmen, and since the 50s, the presence of the president of the USA has been regular. The prayer breakfast is an event that has an international character. Throughout all this time, it has retained its essence – the gathering of people of different confessions and political affiliations, and the promotion of peace and religious tolerance, it was announced.
