The capital of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Sarajevo, on Saturday held the Third Austrian Ball, a traditional musical and dancing event.

In his opening speech, Sarajevo Mayor Abdulah Skaka said that the ball represents the continuation of good relations between Sarajevo and Vienna.

In one of the most beautiful buildings in Sarajevo, City Hall, women in long white gowns and men in black smoking were dancing waltz dance in the main dance room, while visitors had the opportunity to dance other dances in five different dance rooms.

For her part, Austrian Ambassador to BiH Ulrike Hartmann pointed to the strong relations between Austria and BiH.

“Sarajevo is a special opportunity for meetings and social gatherings,” Hartmann said, adding that she is glad the ball has become a cultural event in Sarajevo.

The Third Austrian Ball gathered more than 200 performers and thousands of guests who enjoyed music, dance and performances of artists.

Over the past two years, the Austrian Ball has gathered nearly 500 participants and more than 3,000 visitors, Xinhua reports.
