Sarajevo Mayor: Sarajevo is open to everyone, except for those who use to kill it

The mayor of Sarajevo, Benjamina Karic, reacted to the statements of the mayor of Istocno Sarajevo, Ljubisa Cosic, in which he said that Sarajevo is his just as much as hers.

In her message to Cosic, Karic stressed that it is true that Sarajevo was built by his parents, among other people.

”Mayor Cosic, you are right, Sarajevo is yours and it is true that your parents also built it. It is your capital and you should be proud of it. Our parents and ancestors built Sarajevo and Banja Luka and Foca and Prijedor and all our common beautiful Bosnian cities,” Karic said.

In the end, Benjamina Karic said that Sarajevo is open to everyone.

”Whoever’s parents built Sarajevo, the city is open to them, except for those who later started killing it,” concluded Karic.

To recall, commenting on Karic’s statement that ”the unconstitutional celebration of January 9th is moving to Istocno Sarajevo, to the gates of the city that was under the terror of the aggressors and under the longest siege”, Cosic said that this unconstitutional holiday is celebrated in Istocno Sarajevo and is celebrated by people who are residents of the Republika Srpska (RS) and who love it.

”Her opinion should not be of interest to anyone in RS. That Sarajevo is just as much mine as hers, that is, more mine than hers. But now she is the mayor and lives in the city that our parents created,” said Cosic.

He pointed out that the Serbs now have ”their Istocno Sarajevo that they build, love, and are dedicated to”.

”We wish all the best to Sarajevo, which is next to us, we will not condemn it in any way, let them go their own way,” added Cosic.
