Sarajevo records Increase in Cases of Coronavirus

In the past 24 hours, 59 new cases of coronavirus infection were confirmed in the Sarajevo Canton, after laboratory testing of 841 samples. In the same period, 27 people recovered from Covid-19 infection. There were no deaths.

Of the total number of newly infected persons, 24 (40.67 percent) belong to family clusters or have been in contact with previously infected persons, and are in self-isolation.

There are currently 48 patients in hospital, 33 of whom have an acute infection, while the rest are post covid or under observation.

At the Clinical Center of the University of Sarajevo, 24 patients are being treated, and the same number of patients are being treated at the General Hospital “Prim.dr. Abdulah Nakas”. Three patients are on a respirator, while five use oxygen support to breathe above 15 liters per minute.

Today, Sarajevo Canton records 243 active cases of Covid-19 infection. There are currently 1,037 people in self-isolation. Since the beginning of the pandemic, a total of 53,486 people infected with coronavirus and 51,950 cured have been registered in Sarajevo Canton.

According to the data of the Public Health Institute of cS, in the past seven days the average number of infected is 35, while the weekly incidence, ie the number of patients per 100,000 inhabitants, is 57.
