Sarajevo records Increase in Number of Coronavirus Cases

In the past 24 hours, 197 new cases of coronavirus infection were confirmed in Sarajevo Canton, after laboratory testing of 1,313 samples.

For comparison, yesterday’s cross-section brought 174 new cases of coronavirus infection, after laboratory testing of 1,174 samples.

There were three deaths recorded. According to the data of the Institute of Public Health of CS, in the same period, 125 of our fellow citizens recovered from the Covid-19 infection, while, unfortunately, three people died as a result of this disease.

Currently, 170 patients are in hospital, of which 156 are with acute infection, while the rest are post covid or are under observation. 106 patients are being treated at the Clinical Center of the University of Sarajevo, and at the General Hospital “Prim.dr. Abdulah Nakas “64.

Five patients are on continuous mechanical ventilation (CMV) -respirator, 17 are on non-invasive ventilation (NIV), and five are on oxygen support breathing above 15 liters per minute.

Today, Sarajevo Canton records 1,196 active cases of Covid-19 infection. There are currently 2,587 people in self-isolation. Since the beginning of the pandemic in the Sarajevo Canton, a total of 56,609 people have been infected with the coronavirus and 54,073 have been cured.

In the past seven days, the average number of infected is 168, while the weekly incidence, ie the number of patients per 100,000 inhabitants, is 280, according to the Institute of Public Health of CS.
