Sarajevo records New Cases of Coronavirus

According to the Institute of Public Health, 137 new cases of coronavirus infection have been confirmed in the Sarajevo Canton in the past 24 hours.

Of this number, 69, or 50.36 percent, belong to family clusters or are contacts of previously ill, and are in self-isolation from before.

From the previous reporting until this morning, the results for 535 tested persons arrived, whose samples were collected in the period from October 12 to 15, 2020.

At the same time, 42 people recovered, so the number of active cases of coronavirus infection is currently 598.

Fifty-two people were hospitalized in the Isolation of the Clinical Center of the University of Sarajevo, three of whom use mechanical respiratory support when breathing.

Five people were discharged from this hospital treatment. The total number of deaths from coronavirus infection remain 93. To date, 5,416 infected persons have been confirmed in Sarajevo Canton, of which 4,725 have recovered from COVID infection.

In the period from October 2 to 16 this year, 1,235 self-isolations were ordered by inspection decisions, following the recommendations of epidemiologists or based on the decision of the Ministry of Health of CS.
