Sarajevo records New Cases of COVID-19 and New Deaths

According to the Canton Sarajevo Public Health Institute, 124 new cases of coronavirus infection in Sarajevo Canton have been confirmed in the past 24 hours.

This number is the result of an analysis conducted on over 604 samples collected between 22 and 25 December. 75 infected persons, ie 60.48 percent of them, belong to family clusters or contacts of patients from before, and they are in self-isolation from before.

At the same time, 176 persons recovered from COVID infection, which is a data that continues to confirm the continuation of the positive trend, according to which a higher number of recovered persons was registered in Sarajevo Canton compared to the number of newly infected persons.

At the clinics and in the Isolation of the Clinical Center of the University of Sarajevo in Podhrastovi (128) and the General Hospital “Prof.dr. Abdulah Nakaš ”(54), 182 people were hospitalized, of which eight patients used mechanical respirator support when breathing.

There are 16 patients on non-invasive ventilation. 26 people were discharged from this hospital treatment. Unfortunately, there were also three deaths recorded, so the death toll caused by the coronavirus increased to 366 people. Currently, 1,540 cases of coronavirus infection are active in Sarajevo Canton.
