Sarajevo reports new Cases of COVID-19

After the analysis of 627 samples, collected in the period from October 19 to 21 this year, 169 newly infected persons with coronavirus were confirmed in the Sarajevo Canton.

109 people, or 63.90 percent, belong to the family clusters or contacts of previously ill people, and they have been in self-isolation since before.

In the previous 24 hours, the recovery of 59 people was recorded, so that the number of active cases of coronavirus infection is currently 1,268.

There are 64 people undergoing hospital treatment in the Isolator of the Clinical Center of the University of Sarajevo in Podhrastovi, two of whom use mechanical respirator support when breathing, while eight of them have been released from hospitalization from this isolation ward during the past 24 hours.

Unfortunately, there were also four deaths in treatment, so that the total number of deaths from the effects of coronavirus infection increased to 102.

To date, 6,357 infected persons have been confirmed in Sarajevo Canton, of whom 4,987 have recovered from COVID infection. In the period from October 8 to 21 this year, 2,331 self-isolations were ordered.
