Sarajevo Sevdah Soirée opened with a concert by the Queen of Sevdah, Hanka Paldum

In the beautiful surroundings of Žuta Tabija, the second Sarajevo Sevdah Soirée was opened with a concert by the queen of sevdah, Hanka Paldum. The sevdalinka festival from August 17 to 23 will gather many sevdalinka interpreters.

Starting today, the audience can enjoy Alma Subasic’s interpretation.

Then on August 20, Amira Medunjanin will perform, as well as Jusuf Brkić, Zanin Berbić on August 22.

At the end of the festival, the audience will enjoy a concert by Eldin Huseinbegović on August 23.

The organizers of the Sarajevo Sevdah Soirée recognized the need to preserve and nurture the sevdalinka as an invaluable BiH treasure of intangible culture. Since the Festival has positive reactions from the audience, it could soon become a traditional gathering of sevdah lovers from all over and our famous folk song interpreters.

As the organizers point out, Hanka Paldum’s concert was sold out in record time. A large audience from all over Bosnia and Herzegovina and beyond enjoyed the performance of the most beautiful sevdalinka. In addition to sevdalinka, the unforgettable songs of Hanka Paldum.
