12784434_1731741213729222_1946855954_nSarajevo should get ice hall soon that will be constructed in the campus of the University of Sarajevo. The process of obtaining the necessary permits is currently taking place, and the main investor and operator of the project is the hockey club “Vukovi (Wolves).”

Since the hall will be built in the municipality of Novo Sarajevo, support of local authorities is expected as well. Denis Silajdzic, President of HC “Wolves”, said that the construction should start in August or September this year.

“Currently we are waiting for a building permit from the University of Sarajevo, so we can start with the construction of the hall. We got promises for help from Prime Minister of Canton Sarajevo Elmedin Konakovic, relevant Ministry of Education, Science and Youth of Sarajevo Canton, Rector of the University and the Mayor of Novo Sarajevo Nedzad Koldzo “, said Silajdzic.

For the realization of the project of the Ice Hall within the Sarajevo University it is necessary to allocate funds in the amount of 1 million BAM, and the hall has already been purchased abroad.

“So far, allocated funds were used for the purchase of the hall, which would benefit all the citizens of Canton Sarajevo and beyond, in the period of 9 months, and the use during the summer will possibly be avoided. The University of Sarajevo also would benefit from this project, considering that it could be used by students of the Faculty of Sport,” said the president of HC “Wolves”.

To recall, the idea for the construction the Ice Hall in Sarajevo was there last year as well, and it should be located in the former barracks Safet Zajko in Halilovici. The municipality Novi Grad Sarajevo provided the land for the hall, which by the decision of the Government of the FBiH was assigned to this municipality on management.
