The capital of BiH has been actively preparing to host Formula E race in June 2019for six months, as confirmed by the Mayor of Sarajevo, Abdulah Skaka.

Formula E is a competition organized by the International Automotive Federation (Federation Internationale de l’Automobile – FIA), which also organizes Formula 1.

“We have been actively working on this for six months and we reached the finals. We are hoping to be able to realize this great event that will put Sarajevo on the map of Formula E together with other large world cities,” stated Mayor Skaka.

According to him, they already conducted feasibility study and completed some serious preparations.

“Sarajevo is in the competition with another city, and this represent a major step for both our capital city and the entire BiH – in both economic and tourist sector. We can’t wait for this attraction,” stated the Mayor of Sarajevo.

The Formula E cars are electric racing cars. The first race was held in Beijing, on September 13, 2014. All Formula E races are taking place in the urban environment with the aim to promote green technology.

Each team has four cars and two drivers, so that each driver uses two cars, because the energy stored in the battery is not enough for the whole race.

Formula E is attracting more and more lovers of cars and technology every day. Currently, there are ten teams in Formula E, 20 drivers and 40 cars, and each team has 4 cars and 2 drivers.
