The president of the Serbian Democratic Party, Mirko Sarovic, said on Sunday, August 21, that Serbs and everyone in the region need peace.

“That’s why I fully support the efforts of the leadership of Serbia, led by President Aleksandar Vucic, to preserve peace and stability in Serbia and the region,” Sarovic said.

He called on everyone who has been rattling weapons for the past months and days to stop, because the conflict has not brought anyone good.

“Instead of working on economic integration and strengthening of our economies so that the people would be better off, individuals would rekindle the flames of war because of their personal interests,” said Sarovic.

He believes that all problems must and should be solved through conversations and dialogue.

“That’s why my appeal to everyone in the region, refrain from war rhetoric, let’s solve problems in peace. Let’s compete in the economy and create better conditions for our people. Enough of war cries,” said Sarovic.

The Serbian Democratic Party is the leading opposition party in BiH. Government in BiH the Republika Srpska entity is led by the Alliance of Independent Social Democrats headed by Milorad Dodik. SNSD is also part of the government at the BiH level, where Dodik is a member of the BiH Presidency.
