President of the Serb Democratic Party (SDS) and an MP of that party in the House of Representatives of the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina Mirko Šarović says that in principle, the SDS is against any sanctions and their policy has not changed.
“We do not know any other details on what is targeted by the sanctions imposed by the US, which is the most important thing in the whole process. We warned earlier that this could happen and that it is irresponsible to start a war with the whole world and endanger the entity of Republika Srpska and make it a globally known case,” Šarović told Fena news agency.
The United States government has imposed sanctions on Bosnia and Herzegovina’s Presidency member Milorad Dodik and ATV Banja Luka, a media outlet under its control, for their corrupt practices and continued efforts to threaten Bosnia and Herzegovina’s stability, sovereignty and territorial integrity.
The United States has expanded the list of sanctions that include Milorad Dodik, a member of the BiH Presidency, and Alternative Television from Banja Luka as of today.
As a reminder, US officials have been announcing for some time that sanctions for numerous individuals and companies are on the table, and sanctions were imposed on ATV due to its connection with Dodik, who was previously on the list of sanctioned persons.
