High Representative Christian Schmidt met today with a delegation from SDP BiH led by President Nermin Nikšić to hear their views on the recently adopted conclusions of the FBiH-based opposition parties, and what it means for the work of the opposition across the entire political spectrum in BiH.

“The task for all political stakeholders in Bosnia and Herzegovina is to de-escalate the current political tensions, end the blockade of state institutions, and resume the work necessary to advance BiH down the EU path, which includes fulfilling the requirements to graduate from international supervision,” said the High Representative Schmidt.

Emphasizing the international community’s unwavering commitment to the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the High Representative added that “we will not watch a quarter of a century of hard-won progress disappear”.
