The High Representative in Bosnia and Herzegovina Christian Schmidt met today in Sarajevo with the German Minister of Defense Boris Pistorius, and after the meeting he stated that Germany is still determined to support the preservation of peace and stability in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The Minister of Defense of Germany arrived today to visit Bosnia and Herzegovina, and in Sarajevo he met with a number of high-ranking officials, and in the afternoon he also met with High Representative Schmidt.

In a short address to the press, Schmidt expressed his satisfaction with the meeting with German Minister Pistorius. Welcoming him, Schmidt briefly touched on the details of the meeting.

“He (Pistorius) also expressed Germany’s further determination to assist in the efforts undertaken in Bosnia and Herzegovina to preserve peace and stability, and the previous experience we had with Germany, especially in the context of the Altea mission, was in that direction. “Germany provided full support for the activities that were carried out in Bosnia and Herzegovina in this sense,” said Schmidt.

Schmidt added that the German delegation led by Minister Pistorius did not come only to stay in Bosnia and Herzegovina, but to talk not only with politicians but also with the people who live there.

“They did not come to BiH just to stay here, but also to talk. To talk not only with politicians but also with citizens, that is, with people who live there in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Because we have often seen that if you can’t talk about some things with politicians, then you can definitely talk about it with the people who live in this country,” concluded Schmidt.

Pistorius, also in a short message, thanked Schmidt for what he said was an open and honest discussion.

“I had the opportunity to hear and learn a lot here in Bosnia and Herzegovina during my meetings so far, both in the Presidency and with colleagues in the Ministry of Defense. There is always something to learn. Thank you and I look forward to our cooperation in the future,” said Pistorius, AA writes.
