Director General for Europe at the European Union External Affairs Service (EEAS) Angelina Eichorst will visit Bosnia and Herzegovina from February 6 to 7, it was announced from the EU Delegation to BiH.
On behalf of Deputy Secretary General for Political Affairs Enrique Mora, Eichorst will co-chair the tenth meeting of the six political directors of the Western Balkan countries and the EU, which will be hosted by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina on 6-7. February in Sarajevo.
This forum brings together senior officials from the ministries of foreign affairs of the Western Balkan countries and the European External Action Service to discuss current foreign policy issues and ways to solve them together.
She will also meet with the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Minister of Foreign Affairs Konaković and EUFOR Commander Major General.
“Following the decision of the European Council from December 2023 that accession negotiations with Bosnia and Herzegovina will begin when the required level of compliance with membership requirements is achieved, Eichorst will use the meetings to request progress in reforms from representatives of the executive and legislative authorities in BiH, with considering that the Commission submits its report on progress to the European Council no later than March 2024,” the statement of the EU Delegation to Bosnia and Herzegovina states.
