A former bodyguard of Michael Schumacher, Markus F., allegedly attempted to blackmail the famous Formula 1 driver’s family, demanding 15 million euros.
After being dismissed due to changes in Schumacher’s care, Markus F. reportedly stole approximately 1.500 confidential files, including photos, videos, lists of medications, and medical records. He stored these materials on USB drives and hard disks. Together with longtime friend Yilmaz T. and his son Daniel L., Markus F. allegedly threatened to release the data on the dark web if the demanded amount was not paid.
German authorities arrested Markus F., Yilmaz T., and Daniel L. in July. Yilmaz T. remains in custody on extortion charges, while Markus F. and Daniel L. have been released on bail.
It should be recalled that Schumacher was skiing with his family in the French Alps when he veered off the trail and struck his head on a rock. Although he was wearing a helmet, he sustained severe injuries and spent a long time in a coma. His life was spared because of the helmet, but his true condition remains unknown to this day.
Michael’s son Mick is reportedly in a relationship with a girl from Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH), and rumors have been circulating for some time that they might soon tie the knot.
