8In the RS there are currently 600 million KM permits granted for major construction projects in which the RS is the main investor or organizer. Above all, it is the first section of the highway Prnjavor-Doboj, and afterwards the section Banja Luka-Prijedor, TE “Stanari” and several other smaller hydro-thermal companies, announced the President of the RS National Assembly Igor Radojičić when he opened the 9th Intenrational Scientific Conference in Banja Luka called “Modern theory and Practices in Construction”, announced RTV BN.

“Every crisis is first outlined in construction. In the last five years there was a decline in construction activity and fewer investments’’, said Radojičić and noted that the lack of private initiative or foreign direct investment, the RS continues to encourage economic and construction activities through large projects.

The importance of the gathering, in which 45 scientific and expert papers from the area of urbanism and regional planning and architecture will be presented, will have many uses, for the law and for the field.

“As the carriers of executive power, which requires laws that regulate this area, this gathering means a lot and we use the theory of eminent experts in legal practice’’, explained the Minister for Physical Planning, Construction and Ecology Srebrenka Golić.

The Director of the Institute for Construction in Banja Luka Aleksandar Cvijanović thinks that this gathering is an opportunity for local construction experts, consultants and operatives to get the opportunity to become familiar with new trends, developments and new methods of construction and standards that are being implemented in Europe.

Minister Golić recalled that at the end of April there will be a consideration of a new law in the RS Parliament on physical planning and construction, and the goal will be streamlining procedures, removing administration barriers and shortening deadlines for issuing construction permits.
