SDA: Acceptance of Dodik-Signed SNSD Application Represents Disregard for Court Ruling

The acceptance of Milorad Dodik’s signature on the application of the SNSD for the next general elections is a humiliating show of domestic and international actors that has played a final judgment of the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina, is the position of the Party of Democratic Action (SDA).

They state that the verdict banned Dodik from holding public office, including the position of president of a political party. Despite this, the SDA states, “members of the CEC allowed him to continue acting as a person authorized to represent the SNSD, which made a mockery of the legal order of Bosnia and Herzegovina”.

“Political calculations, yielding to pressure and the absence of principles and courage will not relax relations in Bosnia and Herzegovina. On the contrary, they will further encourage those who destabilize the state, openly advocate the secession of the RS entity and continuously attack the constitutional and legal order of Bosnia and Herzegovina”, according to the SDA.

They said that the Basic Court in Banja Luka must immediately implement the judgment of the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina and delete Milorad Dodik from the register as a person authorized to represent SNSD.

“We ask the competent judicial institutions to determine the responsibility of all those who enabled the non-implementation of a final court verdict. The rule of law is a prerequisite for the stability of BiH, and there will be no rule of law as long as verdicts are carried out selectively, nor will elections be legal if a person who is prohibited from holding public office by a final verdict is accepted as an authorized signatory,” the SDA stated.
