Member of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina Denis Bećirović spoke with the Ambassador of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland (UK) to BiH Julian Reilly about the security situation in the country and the region.

The meeting focused on preserving peace and stability in Bosnia and Herzegovina, and on the need for a strong institutional response to the dangerous moves by the leadership of the Bosnian entity of RS.

Reilly reiterated the UK’s strong support for preserving the independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity of Bosnia and Herzegovina. The UK remains a strong partner of Bosnia and Herzegovina in its efforts to maintain peace and stability.

Bećirović said that preserving peace and stability in Bosnia and Herzegovina is a priority. He stressed that the threat to the constitutional order of Bosnia and Herzegovina, threats of secession and anti-Dayton actions of the political leadership of the Bosnian entity of RS must be met with a clear response from the international community. He stressed the importance of the UK Government’s full involvement in the process of preserving peace and stability in Bosnia and Herzegovina and the region.

Reilly also expressed support for Bosnia and Herzegovina’s European and Euro-Atlantic path, as well as for strengthening a multi-ethnic and democratic Bosnia and Herzegovina. He stressed that the United Kingdom will continue to support the institutions of Bosnia and Herzegovina in implementing reforms, strengthening the rule of law and protecting democratic values, Bećirović’s Cabinet announced.
