SDA President Bakir Izetbegovic commented on the potential candidacy of SDA parliamentarian Edin Ramic for the position of a member of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) representing the Bosniak people in the upcoming General Elections in October of this year.

Izetbegovic said that he personally does not avoid running in an election campaign, but that it will be as the party decides.

“I think that every SDA candidate has a chance at this moment to outmatch the Coalition of the Three and the entire cluster that goes with it,” he stated.

Asked about Edin Ramic’s candidacy, Izetbegovic said that all SDA vice presidents and all SDA parliamentarians are under consideration.

“Mr. Ramic is a man who has earned merit in various ways, above all a man of character with clear positions, brave, articulate, well educated, a patriot, seriously wounded as a young man, a successful minister for two terms… There is nowhere he has not been and helped people, both in the Federation of BiH (FBiH) and in the Republika Srpska (RS). He has a chance, but so do all the others. The SDA has quite a selection, starting with me and onward,” he said.

After Denis Becirovic (SDP) and Semir Efendic (SBiH) have already announced their candidacies, it is now expected that the SDA will also put forward the name of its candidate.
