A senior representative of the SDS Branko Blanusa has sharply criticized the president of the SNSD, accusing him of reducing politics to “show and shouting,” while emphasizing that governance should be grounded in responsibility and the protection of institutions.
In a public statement, the SDS official addressed ongoing political tensions, noting that his decision not to respond to provocations had been misinterpreted as ignorance. “For him, politics is spectacle, but for me it is responsibility and the preservation of institutions,” the statement said.
The SDS also took aim at the current economic direction in Republika Srpska, warning of what it described as a path toward “debt slavery” and the enrichment of a select few. “If that is the kind of economic ‘knowledge’ that leads to emptying Republika Srpska for private gain, then I neither recognize it nor wish to learn it,” the statement added. Instead, the party advocated what it called an “economy of survival,” focused on the broader population rather than privileged individuals.
Addressing broader governance issues, the SDS underscored that Republika Srpska must stand above any individual, calling for measured and statesmanlike decisions. The statement criticized political rhetoric that could lead to isolation or sanctions, warning that “noise may bring points today, but the cost comes tomorrow.”
The party also highlighted its historical role in the creation of Republika Srpska, contrasting its stance with what it described as the misuse of institutions for political leverage. “Treason is not pointing out the mistakes of the government, but subordinating institutions to personal interests,” the statement reads.
Responding to claims from SNSD leadership, the SDS official rejected accusations of political obsession, arguing instead that the current leadership is focused on maintaining power. “Republika Srpska is being used as a shield for personal survival in office, while we are concerned with a future where the law stands above any individual,” the statement emphasized.
The message concluded with a broader appeal to citizens, stressing the need for a functioning system rather than strongman leadership. “The people do not need a leader who ‘knows everything,’ but institutions that work for everyone,” the SDS stated, adding that its goal is to build unity and long-term stability rather than deepen divisions.
The statement was framed not as a direct response to SNSD leadership, but as a message to all citizens of Republika Srpska about the direction and priorities of governance.
