Security Minister: Who says we won’t arrest Schmidt if he breaks the Law!?

Minister of Security of Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) Nenad Nesic said in an interview yesterday: “Who says we won’t arrest Schmidt if it is determined that he violated the law or the constitution?”

Today, a large number of Bosniak citizens called me and said “Congratulations Minister Nesic. Finally, for someone to raise their voice against our colonial status, we are not a colony here.” This clearly shows that the citizens’ awareness is being awakened. I have Bosniak friends. What surprised me is that the consciousness of all our citizens is finally maturing, regardless of whether they are Serbs, Croats, or Bosniaks. We are not a colony here and we are not slaves,” said Nesic on the occasion of yesterday’s press conference.

“I cannot believe that the gentleman who is an illegitimate High Representative is worth more than the millions of Serbs, Bosniaks, Croats, and others who live here”.

He says that he does not get into personal impressions and personal matters, but if someone already asks him if he likes Schmidt, then he will say he doesn’t.

“I don’t get into Schmidt’s personal affairs. If you ask me if I like him, absolutely not. I watched a press conference where he was shouting, and making inarticulate movements. Imagine if I was behaving like that.”

Nesic reiterated that the United Nations (UN) Security Council never approved Schmidt’s appointment.

“I would like someone to show me and the public the paper that Schmidt is a High Representative and to end the discussion,” Nesic added.

In response to the interview question, “Then why isn’t he arrested if he broke the law?”, Nesic said:

“Who says we won’t arrest him? Why wouldn’t we arrest him if we find that he broke the law? I’m for the Constitution and the law. If he broke the law, he should be expelled from here. I conducted an investigation to determine whether Schmidt is a High Representative or not. The information I obtained shows that he isn‘t. Whether I spent the Ministry’s money or not, I was doing what was within my competence. I was determining the real situation,” he explained.

“I want to appeal to the Prosecutor’s Office to form a case and establish the real truth and come before the people and tell the real truth; whether or not he is a High Representative. According to the information I have, he is not a High Representative,” Nesic pointed out.

“I did not say that we will arrest him, but that if he breaks the law, we will arrest him. It is not my competence to arrest, the arrest warrant should be issued by the Prosecutor’s Office,” Nesic concluded, N1 reports.
