The American Univerisity in BiH (AUBiH) has launched a series of educational programs aimed at the training of professional leaders of BiH organizations in the corporate, state and NGO sector, which is placed under the “American University Business Club.”

“The American University in BiH demonstrates social responsibility towards to the community to which it belongs, and through these educational programs we intend to continue to contribute to the development of entrepreneurship, economics, state administration and the NGO sector, and to strengthen cooperation with companies, public institutions and NGO’s in BiH,”, said Nedim Čelebić, the director of the “American University Business Club”, and added that up until now 25 well-known companies and organizations from across BiH have joined this club.

The core activities of the “American University Business Club” are education, development of business cooperation and networking among organizations.

Also, members of the club have opportunities for cooperation with the AUBiH Center for Career Development, which allows them to select and hire the best AUBiH students for professional practice, as well as permanent employment in their organizations.

At this seminar, participants became acquainted with theory and practice of leadership and management, as well as with the process of shaping a vision, and defining and implementing a strategy through interactive communication and the participation of all members.

“I would particularly highlight the interactive approach to learning, and the structure and competency of the participants, because we had the chance to learn a lot about sharing business experiences with other participants at the seminar”, said Milan Šarlija, the Director of Podravka for BiH.

The seminar program is based on an idea of the realization of leadership and management within an environment that provides mechanism for change, which are the main determinants of a dynamic time for business at the global, regional and state level.

” I think that this is a unique training opportunity for leaders in BiH, and that can be the beginning of a successful and functional link between the educational and business sectors, which in the future may join a government institutions”, concluded Professor Selmo Ćikotić, the dean of the “American School of Government” at AUBiH.

In the future, the plan is the realization of 10 seminars, during which participants will have the opportunity to learn key skills required for successful leadership, communication, project management, sales and finances, as well as teamwork and employee motivation.
