Semir Štilić Named Best Player of Polish League

semir-stilic-19Semir Štilić, former player for Željezničar, is the best foreign football player in the last ten years for the Polish league. Playing for Lech from Poznan, in the first season Štilić already took the title of best foreign player of the league, and the best midfielder. His team won the title of first place.

He was brilliant in the next seasons, and Lech played a prominent role in the European cups and in a group together with Juventus, of which they were not defeated in two matches, and Manchester City, who they also beat.

It was expected that Štilić, after departure from Poland, would settle into one of the league of fives, but he continued his career in Ukraine, where fans of Karpatya also named him the best player. He is currently in Gaziantep. However, when it comes to Poland, his name will remain written with golden letters, and portal igol.pl took care of this, naming him the best player in competition with ten other players.

His Polish teammates described him as ‘‘unlike most of the players for the Polish league, Štilić looked like an artist. Lech had a series of successes with him, both in the local and international scene’’.
