Sepic-Gruden Meeting: necessary to accelerate the European Processes in BiH

sepicThe Chairman of the delegation of the Parliamentary Assembly of BiH at the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe Senad Šepić, met today in Strasbourg with the Director of Policy Planning Council of Europe Matjaž Gruden, FENA reporter reports from Strasbourg.

As Šepić told FENA, topics of discussion included the European path of BiH after the entry into force of the Stabilization and Association Agreement between BiH and the EU, functioning of government, the support of the Council of Europe in the development of specific policies in Bosnia and Herzegovina, and a set of socio-economic measures to strengthen, economic and social situation of the citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina and to enable the submission of application for EU membership.

They agreed that it is necessary to accelerate the European processes in BiH, and what they and all the leaders of political parties in our country committed acceptance of the Joint Declaration on the European orientation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and to seize the moment and the Presidency of the Council of Europe, as well as positive signals and support for the EU Reform in BiH this year to submit an application for EU membership.

Also, Šepić thanked Director Gruden for the support that the Council of Europe provides in training programs of young leaders in Bosnia and Herzegovina through the School of Political Studies of the Council of Europe, and with programs in which more than 500 young leaders from political parties haven enrolled so far.

The Second International Seminar of Alumni of this program with participation from more than 20 countries will be held later this week in Sarajevo, during which the director Gruden will visit Bosnia and Herzegovina and participate in this event.
