Serbia sent a Request for Extradition of Naser Orić

The Ministry of Justice of Serbia sent an official request to the Swiss authorities for the extradition of the Srebrenica War Commander, Naser Orić.

Along with the request for extradition, accompanying documents related to the charges by The War Crimes Prosecutor were forwarded to Switzerland as well.

Previously, Serbian War Crimes Prosecutor, Vladimir Vukčević, stated that the case against Naser Orić could not be ceded to the Prosecutor’s Office of B&H since the victim’s family did not give their permission.

The legal representative of Naser Orić, Vasvija Vidović, denied this and emphasized that claims of the Serbian War Crimes Prosecutor, Vladimir Vukčević in which he stated that the case of Orić cannot be ceded to the Prosecutor’s Office of B&H, are not true.

“There is no need to be a legal expert to realize what is written in the agreement between Serbia and B&H. Therefore, this agreement clearly states that victims’ families may oppose to send their testimony to another country, but not the entire case. Vukčević obviously does not know what he’s talking about”, said Vidović.

Orić was arrested on the 10th of June, 2015 at the entrance to Switzerland.
