There are no major problems when it comes to regulation of the borderline between BiH and Serbia, and only 3 % of the border is under the question, as stated by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Serbia, Ivica Dacic.
“There is a dispute on about 3 % of the border due to various infrastructural projects that took place at the time of the former Yugoslavia, such as a railway that is passing through BiH. There are also two hydropower plants with supporting facilities and accumulation lakes where the issue of ownership should be solved, which is indisputable because Serbia invested in all of that,” said Minister Dacic.
He also noted that there are some illogicalities in regard to certain municipalities and cities, and they will be discussed in the future period.
Dacic also noted that the platform for dialogue and commission at the Government of Serbia was newly formed, in agreement with the President of Serbia Aleksandar Vucic, who proposed for the process of reaching an agreement with BiH to be completed by the end of the year.
“That was the idea. There were no other concrete discussion so far, but I think that we can do this if there is a good will, especially because it is on the other side of the RS,” stated Minister Dacic.
