Authorities in Kosovo have arrested seven individuals on suspicion of committing identity theft and fraud.

According to the Basic Prosecutor’s Office in Pristina, the suspects are believed to have managed the now-closed AlbKings group on Telegram, where intimate photos of various people, their contact numbers, photo montages, and intimate videos were shared.

Chief Prosecutor of the Basic Prosecutor’s Office Zejnullah Gashi said at a press conference that investigations are ongoing and it is likely that the number of arrests will increase.

He stated that the prosecution and police, thanks to close cooperation with the citizens of Kosovo, were able to apprehend the perpetrators in a short period.

“The target of this case were the citizens of Kosovo, severely violating their personal and moral integrity by distributing intimate photos and videos, which created uncertainty among the citizens,” he said.

Prosecutor Ereza Bajrami-Kastrati, working on the case, stated that the case was opened at the beginning of 2024 after media reports about the group’s activities, which had a large following, RSE writes.
