Seven police officers who were deprived of their liberty last year as part of Operation “Kocka” were reinstated this morning – confirmed the Minister of Interior of the Una-Sana Canton, Adnan Habibija.

As he explained, these are police officers who had the status of reported persons, and their appeals against previous suspension measures were considered and adopted by the Police Board for Supervision of Police Work, as an independent body responsible for assessing disciplinary and professional issues within the police structure.

He added that the decision to return them to their jobs was made after the Police Board accepted their appeals and determined that there were currently no legal obstacles to continuing their work, taking into account their status in the proceedings and the presumption of innocence.

In Operation “Kocka”, which was carried out by the Federal Police Administration in April 2024 at the order of the Prosecutor’s Office of the Una-Sana Canton, 27 people were arrested, including 17 police officers from the Sanski Most Police Station.

According to the Prosecutor’s Office, they are suspected of the criminal offenses of abuse of position or authority, and receiving gifts and other forms of benefits, in connection with economic activities related to the transport of coal from the territory of the Sanski Most municipality.
