olympic_memories“My Olympic Memories” is the title of a Facebook campaign organized on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the XIV Olympic Winter Games, which aims to collect as much as possible personal memories of the Olympics in Sarajevo in order to enrich the collection of the Olympic Museum in Sarajevo.

The Olympic Museum opened on 8 February 1984, aiming to preserve the memories of the organization and maintenance of the XIV Winter Olympic Games. However, the building of the Olympic Museum was burned and badly damanged at the beginning of the war in 1992, and many items belonging to this Museum were lost.

A “new” Olympic Museum  opened on the occasion of celebrating the 30th anniversary of the XIV Winter Olympic Games, as part of the headquarters of the B&H Olympic Committee in Zetra, and construction works at the Museum in Petrakijina street are ongoing.  The third phase of renovations began recently.

The intention of “My Olympic memories” campaign is to motivate all those who in any way (as participants, organizers, audience…) participated in the realization of the XIV Winter Olympic Games to share their memories of the Olympics in Sarajevo and to contribute to the completion of the museum’s collection.

Contributions can be given by sharing stories, photos, videos… at the Facebook page (My Olympic Memories).

This campaign is conducted by Sarajevo Navigator, with the support of Sarajevo City, B&H Olympic Committee, Turkish Community of Sarajevo Canton and USAID Sida Company Project.
