On Wednesday at the Sarajevo International Airport, an award ceremony will be held, marking the airport’s record number of passengers. Namely, the airport will award the one-millionth passenger in 2018.

In 2018, Sarajevo International airport will hit a record when it comes to the number of passengers.

“According to our statistics, a jubilee of 1,000,000 passengers is expected on a Turkish Airlines flight from Sarajevo to Istanbul,” was stated from the airport.

A total of 957,969 passengers passed through the Sarajevo International Airport in 2017, which is 14 percent more than in 2016.

However, since the beginning of 2018, there has been an increase in the number of passengers in all the quarters and the officiall announcement of the record will be announced on Wednesday,

The increase in the number of passengers at the airport in Sarajevo is expected in the coming years since a new terminal is being built and the works are already in progress.

When it comes to the regional airports, Belgrade is on the first place with 5.34 million passengers, followed by Zagreb, with 3.09 million and Slit with 2.82 million passengers annually.
