Federal Minister of Culture and Sports Salmir Kaplan and the Secretary General of the Basketball of Federation of BiH Harun Mahmutović signed an agreement on co-financing the participation of the national team of BiH at the European Championships in Slovenia, of the amount of 50.000 KM.
The Budget of the Federation of BiH for 2013 has allocated funds for the sports and the resources allocated for the Basketball Network of Federation of BiH will be directed to the preparations and participation of BiH at the European Championships for seniors “Slovenia 2013“.
Kaplan and Mahmutović discussed the problems that the Basketball Network of Federation of BiH is facing in the process of preparing for the EP. The Secretary General of the Network stressed that the financial situation is more than severe and that very often the institutions in charge do not show understanding and support for one of the most successful BiH selections.
‘’Federal Ministry of Culture and Sport from its modest resources allocated 50.000 KM for the tour of our team in Slovenia, which is important, but it is certainly not enough in such a difficult situation. I hope that the other levels of government as well as the sponsors to be involved and to help the basketball team to reach a good result in Slovenia. If we expect a good result, then we all have to help’’, stated the Minister Kaplan after talks with Mahmutović.
