Signed the Memorandum of Cooperation between Ombudsmen B&H and Centers for Social Work

slikaAt the joint meeting in the central office of Ombudsman Institution B&H in Banja Luka, the Ombudsmen of B&H and the director of social work centers in Banja Luka, Sarajevo, Bihać, Tuzla, Brčko and Mostar is signed today a memorandum of cooperation for the establishment of the close cooperation on the development of comprehensive special report “Children in conflict divorce” and “The role of social work in the protection of children’s rights“.

The aim of the research is to identify the reasons and the causes that lead to the violation of the children rights in conflict divorces, and the competent authorities at all levels, based on the survey results to suggest possible solutions that their implementation would enable the neutralization and the reduction of negative consequences of parental divorce on children’s emotional development and their psychological and physical health.

At the same time, the Ombudsmen recognizes the need to ensure a permanent capacity building of centers for social work having in mind the importance and the role that they play in protecting the rights of citizens.
