In the Sarajevo Canton, 111 newly infected people with coronavirus have been confirmed in the past 24 hours. These are the results of laboratory tests of 621 samples collected from October 11 to 14 this year.

Out of the mentioned number of newly infected, 72 people, ie 64.86 percent, belong to family clusters or contacts of previously ill, and they are in self-isolation from before. In the previous 24 hours, the recovery of 33 people was recorded, so that the number of active cases of coronavirus infection is currently 503.

There are 49 people undergoing hospital treatment in the Isolator of the Clinical Center of the University of Sarajevo in Podhrastovi, two of whom use mechanical respiratory support during breathing, while one patient was discharged from this hospital treatment during the previous 24 hours.

Unfortunately, there were also four deaths in treatment, so the number of deaths in Canton Sarajevo increased to 93 people.

To date, 5,279 infected persons have been confirmed in Sarajevo Canton, of whom 4,683 have recovered from COVID infection. There are 1,114 people in self-isolation. Due to the increase in the number of infected in the Sarajevo Canton in recent days, the Crisis Staff of the Ministry of Health issued a new Order with stricter measures than recommended by the current order of the Federal Crisis Staff, which entered into force today.

One of these measures is the mandatory proper wearing of protective masks over the mouth and nose to protect the respiratory system indoors and outdoors.
