Four customs officers of the Indirect Taxation Administration (ITA) of BiH were arrested today in a Sipa operation on suspicion of receiving gifts and other forms of benefits.

The arrest of the four customs officers was confirmed by the ITA, which stressed that they are at the disposal of all competent law enforcement authorities in detecting and sanctioning all types and forms of abuse and criminal acts.

In a statement, the ITA stressed that it fully supports the work of the competent law enforcement institutions in BiH.

The statement emphasized that all employees of the Administration are obliged to act professionally, impartially and with integrity in their work.

This morning, Sipa members searched several locations in Banja Luka as part of an operation codenamed “Border” and deprived four ITA officers of their liberty on suspicion of committing the criminal offense of receiving gifts and other forms of benefits.
