SIPA arrests Minister of Human Rights and Refugees of BiH

Acting on the order of the prosecutor from the Special Department for Organized Crime, Economic Crime and Corruption, SIPA police officers, with the assistance of the RS Ministry of the Interior, carried out an operation to detain the suspect Miloš Lučić (1986) incumbent Minister of Human Rights and Refugees of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Along with the deprivation of liberty, office premises and the suspect’s place of residence, as well as other facilities, are being searched to find evidence of committed criminal acts, the BiH Prosecutor’s Office announced.

Suspect Lučić is under investigation by the Prosecutor’s Office of BiH and is suspected of the criminal offense of abuse of position or authority, connected to several corrupt criminal offenses, which caused damage to the budget of BiH, and illegal property benefit was achieved for the suspect and other persons related to him.

The suspect, accompanied by SIPA, will be handed over to the acting prosecutor within the legal deadline, who, after questioning the suspect, will decide on further activities, according to the statement.
