Police officers of the State Investigation and Protection Agency (SIPA) yesterday conducted searches of apartments, auxiliary buildings and movable property in ten locations in the Brcko District of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Donji Žabar, Pelagićevo and Orašje, including one department of the Orašje Correctional Institution in Orašje.
Ten persons were deprived of their liberty, including one person serving a prison sentence in the Orašje Correctional Institution. The persons were deprived of their liberty due to the existence of grounds for suspicion that they committed the criminal offenses of “Organized Crime” and “Illicit Trafficking in Narcotic Drugs” prescribed by the Criminal Code of Bosnia and Herzegovina. After criminal processing and questioning as suspects, six persons will be transferred to the further jurisdiction of the Prosecutor’s Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina, upon the order of the acting prosecutor.
During the search, approximately 5 kilograms of a herbal substance resembling the narcotic drug marijuana were discovered and temporarily seized, three passenger motor vehicles, 8,000 euros, 6,730 convertible marks, a mixture for mixing drugs, measuring scales, heaters, lamps and other items used in the preparation of a mixture for mixing narcotic drugs, mobile phones, diaries, records and other items that may serve as evidence that the aforementioned criminal offenses were committed.
The aforementioned activities were carried out pursuant to an order of the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina under the supervision of the Prosecutor’s Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina and in cooperation with police officers of the Border Police and the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Republika Srpska and the Police of the Brčko District of Bosnia and Herzegovina, SIPA announced.
