The Basic Court in Pristina sentenced those accused of raping an 11-year-old girl to a total of 62 years in prison.
“The defendants B.R., D.R., B.S., M.S., F.S., M.R. were found guilty and sentenced, because they committed the criminal offense of rape, so the defendant B.R. was sentenced to twelve years in prison, while the defendants D.R., B.S., M.S. F.S. and M.R. were sentenced to ten years in prison, each separately,” the court’s announcement stated.
Among the defendants are three who were acquitted.
The case of the rape of an 11-year-old girl shocked the public in Kosovo last August. At that time, five people suspected of abusing children were reported.
It was later revealed that the girl was raped in June 2022 as well.
