”Skapino” at the Sarajevo Youth Theater

The play ”Skapino” is a contemporary adaptation of Moliere’s ” Scapin’s Deceits” directed by Kaća Dorić and Nenad Veličković. In this contemporary adaptation the play ridicules the general human weakness whose causes are different types of passion, among others, the passion for money or passion of love. Skapino is the only character who recognizes the possibility to make money out of human weakness. The audience cannot do much but love the character of Skapino since he is one of the rare thieves and crooks who does not humiliate his victims, but gives them enough faith to leave them blindly convinced that they are not losing but yet again winning. Everybody is happy although everybody has been tricked by Skapino.

This farce is a metaphor of our time, if we consider the amount of brainwashed people and if we think about the fact that sometimes because of our personal weaknesses we consciously accept to be tricked or robbed. But then again, everything is much better with some celebration and laughter. The acting cast for this play consists of Admir Glamočak, Mario Drmać, Aldin Omerović, Damir Kustura, Ajla Cabrera, Alma Merunka, Sanin Milavić, Mirza Tanović, Suada Ahmetašević and Mirza Dervišić.

The play will be performed at the Sarajevo Youth Theater on the 13th of February at 20:00 p.m.
