The ski season in Kupres is in full swing, there is enough snow and all accommodation capacities are full.
According to Ivan Bagarić, a member of the Board of the Adria Ski Sports and Recreation Center in Kupres, the season has started well and they are extremely satisfied, Fena news agency writes.
“We opened the winter ski season on January 2, and already for the New Year all the capacities in the hotels were full. The season has started well, there is great interest, as well as a large number of skiers,” said Bagarić.
He added that it is currently the time of winter vacation in schools, which also affects the high occupancy of accommodation capacities.
The largest number of guests are from Dalmatia, but there are also guests from all over Bosnia and Herzegovina.
According to him, the prices of ski tickets, as well as food and drinks, have only been minimally adjusted compared to last season, and the ski lifts in operation are a four-seater, a two-seater, a baby lift, and from Friday an anchor on two additional slopes.
The price of a daily ski pass is 44 marks for adults, and 32 marks for children up to 14 years, while a half-day pass (from 13:00) costs 32 marks for adults, or 26 marks for children.
Two ski schools also operate regularly at the Center, which are also very well-booked.
Bagarić expects the rest of the season to be good and adds that preparations for next year are already underway.
“In the spring, we will start installing a new four-seater, which has already arrived, we have broken through the corridor where it will be installed and part of the construction work has already been completed. Also, we are building an additional accumulation lake at the top of the mountain, which will allow us to “produce” a much larger amount of snow with much lower consumption because we will produce snow “under free fall” with minimal electricity costs,” said Bagarić.
Skiing enthusiasts can expect an international race, a national championship, a ski ring and many other interesting events in the rest of the season in Kupres.
