Slovenia appointed a special representative for the Western Balkans, about which it also informed the Deputy Assistant Secretary of State of the United States of America, Gabriel Escobar.

The official Twitter page of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs published information about Slovenia’s decision to appoint a special representative for the Western Balkans. The head of Slovenian diplomacy, Tanja Fajon, informed Escobar about this at a meeting on the sidelines of the Bled Strategic Forum.

So far, it has not been specified who will be the special representative of Slovenia.

Earlier, Germany also appointed a special envoy for this area, Manuel Sarrazin, considering that the countries of the Western Balkans require numerous reforms in order to open the doors of the European Union to them. Slovenia is also committed to this effort, and this appointment confirms that.
