The Minister of Defense of the Republic of Slovenia, Marjan Šarec, sent a letter to the Minister of Security of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Nenad Nešić, and thanked him on behalf of the citizens of Slovenia for the help after the recent catastrophic floods in this country.

At the proposal of the BiH Ministry of Security, through the European Union Mechanism for Civil Protection, the teams of the Federal Administration of Civil Protection and the Republic Administration of Civil Protection with six excavators, trucks and personnel participated in the humanitarian mission to help the citizens of Slavenia.

Šarec stated that BiH, with its quick response to the tragic event and significant assistance, contributed a great deal to the mosaic of joint efforts to rehabilitate the consequences of the most extensive floods in the history of Slovenia and alleviate the suffering of citizens affected by floods.

“Such a concrete expression of solidarity is priceless. Quick reaction, knowledge of the rescue strategy, expert and dedicated teams assume the most important role in such circumstances and are the key to successful interventions. The extraordinary organization, professionalism and selfless action of the engineering units and operators of heavy machinery were of great help to the citizens affected by floods, both in the transport of daily necessities to the affected areas and in the arrangement of watercourses”, said Šarec.
