After more than 20 years, a solution for the retirement home in Bihać is near. For more than 20 years, the building has been waiting for a solution, and during the time it was used as a refuge for homeless people and drug addicts.

However, as it stands now, the situation can soon change. The FBiH government adopted a decision to sell 9 buildings that belong to the IPO Department, of which one of the buildings is the retirement home. However, problems still exist due to unresolved property issues.

In order to solve the problem of this building, it is necessary to initiate registration, which is not possible without solving the disputed land. The Director of PIO Institute of the Una-Sana Canton Samir Veladžić says that the Federal Bureau home will decide the final solution to the retirement. Until then, registration must first be completed in Bihać.

The completion of the retirement home, which is found in one of the most attractive parts in the center of Bihać, would be an ideal solution for local pensioners. In municipality Bihać there are around 8,000 retired people, and many are sick and unable to take care of themselves.
