Yesterday in Sarajevo, program of Youth bank was promoted. The program was supported by American Agency for International Development, and mayors of 32 municipalities of BiH signed an Agreement on Cooperation and Declaration with the Network of Youth Banks.

Program of ”Youth Bank BiH’’ has the goal to increase the participation of young people in development of local communities through active role in decision making process, and also to support the activities of the young people  on projects of informal groups of young people.

Chief of USAID in Bi, which is the greatest donor to this project, said that young people of BiH are well informed and interested, but also worried about the future and called on the government to recognise the potentials of young people.

From 2008 to 2012, in 27 municipalities young people have implemented 675 projects whose total value is 2 541 398 BAM, and 328 558 had some use of these projects.

In the period to come there should be 600 additional projects worth 1 500 000 BAM that should be realised, and the money will be given from local communities, donors, and partner municipalities.

In 2013, the program of Youth Bank will realize its projects with 32 municipalities in BiH : Bosanska Krupa, Bosanski Petrovac, Brod, Bugojno, Doboj Jug, Cazin, Gornji Vakuf-Uskoplje, Kakanj, Kladanj, Konjic, Kotor Varoš, Kozarska Dubica, Lopare, Goražde, Novi Grad, Novi Travnik, Modriča, Mrkonjić Grad, Pelagićevo, Petrovo, Prozor-Rama, Odžak, Srbac, Šekovići, Šipovo, Tešanj, Usora, Vukosavlje, Zavidovići, Zvornik, Živinice i Žepče)

Program of Youth Bank will allow the young people regardless of their sex, ethnicity or religion to be active parts of their communities and to contribute to the development of their country.
