In two B&H SOS Children’s Villages in Sarajevo and Gracanica, 278 boys and girls have found love, the warmth of the family home, SOS mom and SOS brothers and sisters. Every day, 29 SOS moms are cooking lunch, washing the laundry, helping with school assignments, kissing the children for good night, and at the end of the month they are paying the bills for water, electricity, heating etc.
Every SOS mom wants to compensate the loss of parents to the children and give them a warm family environment, to which they will always be able to come back – even one day when they become independent and “people on their own”. However, along the way, SOS moms need the support of the community.
For 12 years now, the SOS Children’s Villages in cooperation with BH Telecom, are distributing a letter with the payment slip to all of the fixed-line subscribers, as the invitation to support SOS Children’s Villages in B&H. Through these letters, citizens have the opportunity to get acquainted with life in the SOS Children’s Villages and to be the most direct help for covering the costs of SOS families with their donation in the amount that they can afford.
If you want to join this campaign, we are inviting you to use the payment slip with the letter that is coming with your phone bill, and in that way help to provide together the funds that are needed for covering the costs of the SOS family with seven boys and girls (money for food, clothing, hygiene products, school materials, house maintenance, utility and health care costs). SOS Children’s Villages exist thanks to donations. With this campaign, we want to say that with a small amount of money, if we all help, we can provide the funds for 278 boys and girls, and young people.
