spa3Spa tourism is emphasized as one of the most promising segments of this economic sector in the region of Olovo. The restoration of spa Aquaterm, which broke all records of visits this year, contributed to this fact.

Staying in the countryside, unpolluted air, the healing properties of water, spas, health and recreational centers that are suitable for vacation etc. These are only some of the opportunities for spa treatment and tourism in our country.

Region of Olovo has special potential for this type of tourism, since there is at least 7 geothermal wells on this area.

“Almost one million BAM was invested in the reconstruction of the spa in the last two years, in the facility and the staff. We have significantly expanded the accommodation capacities, and we are also working on improving the content of the spa,” said Senad Selimovic, acting director of PHI SRC Aquaterm Olovo.

In the year of 2000, the average number of visitors was around 1,000 patients, while almost 4,500 people visited this facility in the past year, and the number of foreign visitors is increased as well.
