The Mayor of Siroki Brijeg, Ivo Pavkovic, received on Monday H.E. Maria Molina Alvarez de Toledo, the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Spain to Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH), accompanied by her delegation.

The Ambassador congratulated Mayor Pavkovic on a very successful first year of his term, and the Mayor informed the esteemed guest about the activities of the City of Siroki Brijeg, according to the City Administration.

During the meeting, they discussed strengthening political and economic ties, the development of cultural and sports cooperation, as well as the linking of local communities through twinning projects between the City of Siroki Brijeg and local units in Spain, which would create the prerequisites for mutual cooperation.

The Ambassador emphasized that Spain provides strong support to BiH in all activities on the path toward joining the European Union (EU) and that it wishes to further assist through the exchange of experiences and knowledge.

The City of Siroki Brijeg has been recognized as an economically very strong and export-oriented environment, whose GDP per capita amounts to 5-6 times more than the state average, it was said at the meeting.

The Ambassador invited the Mayor to a return reception at her residence in Sarajevo, thereby confirming mutual readiness for further cooperation and the strengthening of friendly ties.
