Spark motivates Girls from Elementary Schools to choose Robotics for their Career

Through the last school year and the SPARKreators League (a robotics competition for elementary school students), we came to data that say that only 459 girls participated in the league, from a total of 1589 registered participants. The question arises as to why only 28.8% of female students are interested in robotics, automation, and programming, although these professions are today most sought after?

For this very reason, we have decided to launch a project under name SPARKreatorice (parallel to the SPARKreators league), through which we want to motivate girls from elementary schools to choose robotics, automation or programming for their career. With the help of the US Embassy in Bosnia and Herzegovina, we will donate 10 mBot educational robots to 20 primary schools. The applications will be open on 9 October 2017.

After applications, we will select 20 schools and donate the mentioned educational robots, and organize the education of teachers and female students. Girls will be able to show their knowledge at school competitions and at the final competition between all schools.
