Speaker of the House of Representatives of FBiH Parliament met with representatives of Hungarian Parliament

Speaker of House of Representatives of FBiH Parliament Fehim Škaljić met with Zoltan Horvath, director of technical help of the EU program and Krisztian Kovacs, chief of EU office in the Parliament of Hungary. They stated their support for BiH in the process of Euro-Atlantic integrations.

They said that the main goal is to strengthen the role of BiH Parliament, and speed up processes of European integrations.

”Current situation in BiH is marked by a stalemate in the development of parliamentary democracy. Parliament doesn’t have organizational and financial autonomy; it has no contact with experts or civil society. We need to work on those issues, and for that we need education that will help in development of parliamentary conscience’’, noted Škaljić

In relation that it was stated that during the next is Sarajevo there will be a seminar on topic: ”The role of the parliament in the process of European integrations”. Škaljić will hold an opening speech, and during the seminar representatives of Slovenia and Hungary will talk about their experiences of the pre-accession period to the EU.

After the seminar ends, booklet with comparative analysis of experiences of parliaments in their process of EU integration will be given to participants of the seminar.
